How to use the solver
Nonograms turn number clues into a picture. Each number is the length of a filled run. Separate runs in the same line need at least one empty cell between them.
- Enter the clues. Set the width and height, then paste one line per row or column. For a line with no filled cells, enter
0. A clue such as2 1means two filled cells, a gap, then one filled cell. - Make it your puzzle. Apply your clues, or change an original example. Fill cells, mark them empty, or erase a mark. Your marks become constraints when you ask for help.
- Choose your level of help. Request one certain hint to keep working, or solve the puzzle to check its answers. A preview of an answer does not overwrite your own grid.

At least two valid grids exist. The preview shows one of them, rather than pretending it is the only answer.
No grid satisfies all the clues and marks. Check for a copied clue or an incorrect cell mark.
The search stopped at its time or work limit. That proves neither impossibility nor uniqueness.

Does this work for Picross, Griddlers and Hanjie?
Yes, for standard black-and-white row-and-column nonograms. These names are often used for the same style of picture logic puzzle. Colored clues and variant rules are not supported in this version.
Does a hint reveal a guessed answer?
No. A hint marks a cell only when every remaining placement in a row or column agrees on its value. If this line-by-line reasoning finds no certain cell, the tool says so.
Can I paste a screenshot?
This version accepts number clues, not images. Paste rows and columns as text. Image recognition can misread clues, so it is outside this tool’s current scope.
How large a puzzle can I solve?
The input limit is 25 × 25. Some small puzzles can still require a large search. Solving runs in a background browser worker and has bounded time and work limits; you can cancel it.
Where does my puzzle go?
Solving happens on your device. Applied clues and cell marks are saved in this browser. A copied share link includes the puzzle and marks in its fragment, visible to anyone with the link. Unapplied text drafts are not saved. See our privacy policy.
